A Hindustani classical vocal virtuoso descending from the family of principal Kirana Gharana musicians, Amjad Ali Khan has carved a niche in the industry of Indian classical music. He is hailed as a performer par excellence in India and abroad, and is one of the contemporary singers of the Kirana Gharana to have assimilated the essence of the meer-khand, vistar or development typical to the gharana. His melodious reverberating voice and his ability to balance the performances with sensitive alap/vistar, complex sargams and an onslaught of lightening fast taans has set him in a class apart. 

Besides being a connoisseur in Hindustani classical vocal, Amjad Ali Khan is much-admired for singing the light classical forms such as ghazals, tumri, dadra and bhajan with equal adeptness.

He is considered a connoisseur in the subject and has been invited by many esteemed organizations for conducting workshops and judging musical talent. Amjad Ali Khan is an "A" grade artist at All India Radio and Doordarshan Delhi. He has also done playback singing in several T.V. serials like Shareek-e-Ghalib Telefilms, Ahsaas Parampara, Krishan Murli, etc, and has appeared in various T.V. shows. He has worked with various renowned music directors as singer and composer. The most recent endeavour was playback singing for a private album by Amjad Nadeem, the music director duo that has given riveting music in films like Zila Ghaziabad, etc. Amjad Ali Khan has done music direction in music/ballet groups and private albums; one of them being music direction for a ballet group that showcased poetry of Rabindra Nath Tagore in Bangladesh. Apart from Rabindra Nath Tagore, he has composed music for the poetry by several renowned poets like Mirza Ghalib, Ras Khan, Amir Khusro, etc.

Amjad Ali Khan has been invited for judging the Indian Idol Junior 2015 auditions, the drive "Haryana Ek Khoj" by Spic Macay, National School of Drama, Shree Ram Centre, etc. He has been conducting workshops on the subject for various organizations, like Sahitya Kala Parishad (for last 15 years), Shree Ram Centre, Spic Macay, Routes 2 Roots, etc.

Amjad Ali Khan is the founder of Kirana Gharana Music Academy, a formal music school established with the vision of propagating Hindustani classical music and disseminating the gharana gayaki in a structured way while preserving its soul. His zeal to excel in music and humanitarian beliefs go hand in hand. He imparts free education in music to the underprivileged children. Amjad Ali Khan has an ardent desire to provide a platform to those who deserve even if they cannot afford, and in this way, serve the creation of Almighty.
