   Biography
Marami Medhi is a young dynamic and accomplished dancer from Assam, a well-known name in the field of kathak. She has received her initial training in kathak dance under the prevailing guidance of Late Charoo Bordoi, and subsequently became disciple of renowned maestro Late Sri. Surendra Saikia. Marami became excellent performer, expert Choreographer and an ideal teacher. Her solo recitals was vibrant reflection of splendid command over the electic elements of this genre of Indian classical dancer. With strong sense of rhythem and melody, and that too with complete control over the finer nuances of this dance form. Medhi depicted now a kathak dancer can touch the hearts of the common man. Marami  Medhi is a founder of rapidly growing Kathak dance Institute ’Sur Sangam’ where upcoming talents are getting trained.

   Career
Any music festival in the North-East is believed to be un-lively without the legend’s performance of Marami Medhi. Marami has presented dance recital at many major festivals in places like Deep Mohotsava of Andaman Nicobar Island. Kathak recital at the Kathak Samaroh which will have been a life time remembrance, jointly organized by U.P. Sangeet Natak Academy, Kathak Kendra and Rastriya Kathak Sangsthan, Lucknow. She has also performed in ‘Sangit Sankalpa Samaroh’ held at Rajkot (Gujrat). She too has participated in Navarang Sangeet Sanmelan, Durgapur,Kolkata. Festivals performed by Marami includes- Panch-Tatva Festival, Mumbai,  Kathak Yatra organized by Kathak Kendra, New Delhi at Guwahati,Vasantotsava, NewDelhi, Nava Varsha Mahotsava organized by Shrimanta Shankardev Kalakhetra at Guwahati, Kathak Sandhya organized by Rastriya Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow, Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan organized by Sur Singer Samsad, Mumbai, NCPA Mumbai,Bahrampur Festval of Dance, West Bengal etc.
She has attended several workshops of Dance all over India as a Resource Person and Expert organized by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, New Delhi.
Feature film: She is also a renowned actress of Assamese feature Film such as Rickshawala, Bohagar Duparia, Sonmoina, Mon etc. Other T V serials and Tele Film to her credit areT.V, Serial: Agantuk, Sandhyatora. Eai Saharate, Anusandhan Tele-Film: Anya Akash. Bishapriti. Rangman (Documentary).
She has visited U.K performed in Assam Day organized by United Assam Association of U.K.
Also she has visited Egypt, Israel, Plaestine and UAE as a sponsored artist of ICCR Minister of External Affairs, Govt. of Indiaand performed in the ‘India by Nile festival, Sharjah. Her performances were highly appreciated.

Marami Medhi has received ‘SINGAR MANI’ title in recognition of her meritorious performance in the prestigious 44th Kal Ke Kalakar Sangeet Sanmelan held at Mumbai. She is a panel Artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt. of India in the field of Kathak (Solo). She has been awarded the title “NRITYA MUKUTA” from Northeast Big Cultural Society (NEBCUS.) Frontier TV, news Channel of North East, Guwahati has given her ‘Nava Devi’ title.
