Biography

Manjiri ji is one of the most prominent kathak artists of present generation in India. She has won national acclaims and fundamentals of dance form Kathak. Her performances always present a rare combination of Expressions, Rhythem and Grace means Abhinay, Laya and Ang.

Renowned people from the field of dance and media have always appreciated Manjiri ji's performances. Her teaching methodologh and compositions have always received special mention in the media reviews.

Manjiri ji learned Kathak under the very special guidance of Rohini ji Bhate Who is Internationally renowned Kathak dance teacher, and also has her dance shows special flavour of Jaipur style.

Manjiri ji got a chance to perform in Switzerland and Italy for Golden Jubilee celebration of Indian Independance.

Also Manjiri ji got a chance to perform at Dubai for Government of Rajasthan.

Manjiri ji won many prizes inter collegiate, stateand National level competitions for kathak like -

INSYNCH-Pune, Rendezvous-IIT Delhi, Swar Sadhana Samiti-Mumbai, West Zone Cultural Centre-WZCC,Bangalore & Nagpur, Youth Festival-Pune, Rotary club -Pune

Manjiri ji performed Kathak based ballet name- Dakshayagya, was presented on Doordarshan and Doordarshan Bharti, also performed another ballet name - Astitva, was performed at Uday Shankar Ballet festival in Jaipur.

Manjiri ji got a chance to perform in Switzerland and Italy for Golden Jubilee celebration of Indian Independance.

Also Manjiri ji got a chance to perform at Dubai for Government of Rajasthan.

Manjiri ji performed as a lead dancer in various group compositions and choreographies like Udgar, Pawas, Talmala, Time and Usha-Sukta under Rohini ji's supervision.

Manjiri ji won National scholarship in the field of Kathak for three years by the Government of India.

Also won Senior Fellowship awarded by Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi.

Manjiri ji is running her own institution of dance at Jaipur.

Selected as Guru for Jaipur Kathak Kendra, which is oldest and one of the three institutions supported by the state Government in India.
