Biography
Master Raktim Chanda, born in the lineage of music & art had inherited an innate affinity for classical music and dance. His latent talent was explored when he for the first time viewed a powerful dance performance of Smt. Sanjukta Banerjee in the appearance of Goddess Durga on Doordarshan on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya. In this way his idol diva kindled the fire of dancing in him. He started his formal training of Bharatanatyam at an age of 12 at Saraswat Sanskriti Kendra of eminent Bharatanatyam exponent Smt. Anita Mallick, under the strict supervision & tender guidance of her able disciple Smt. Moutushi Das Dutta.

Raktim Chanda is a Professional Dancer & Choreographer heralding from Kolkata. He is the recipient of the Senior National Scholarship in Bharatnatyam from CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He is a graded Bharatanatyam Artiste of Doordarshan Kendra & an A+ Grade empanelled Kuchipudi Artiste of EZCC. He had undergone dance training under senior dance exponents, Shrimathi Sujatha Ramalingam, the Artistic Director of "Kalashrishti", Kolkata (Bharathanatyam & Kuchipudi) & Shrimathi Deepa Narayanan Sashindran, the founder trustee & Director of "Kuchipudi Parampara Foundation", Bengaluru (Kuchipudi). He is presently the Artistic Director of "Nrityati" where he provides dance education in both the genres and intends to work in a challenging environment breaking the stereotypes.
