Biography

Sri Bhagavatula Venkata Rama Sarma is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer and choreographer. He is one of today's most revered Kuchipudi Gurus who has carry forward the torch of this exquisite dance form by imparting traditional training to the future generation. He has trained many students. He has founded and established Sri Nrutya Art Academy to promote Kuchipudi. Some of his prominent students are B.Sowmya, H.T. Rashmi, Sanjata Gupta, Ammulu, Rajatha Gora Indrani, Jyothirmay, Madhuri, Demos, Siva Rama Krishna.

Career

Sri Bhagavatula has directed and choreographed many dance dramas for Doordarshan (Delhi, Madras and Hydradrabad). He conducts summer classes for rigorious training in Kuchipudi style for both Indians and NRI's also. He has choreographed many dance ballets like Asta Laxmi, Annamayya, Leela Krishnam, etc. He has performed Kuchipudi dance for programmes organised by the Sangeeta Nataka Academy. He has performed several programmes organised by South zone at Tanjore, Pondicherry.

He has acted in a dance film 'Ananda Bhairavi'. Sri Bhagavatula Venkata Rama Sarma has also composed a Ballet on Sri Bhagvad Geeta and performed in India. Since last ten years, he is participating in O.B. programmes of All India Radio, Vijayawada.
