Kasturi Datar Atrawalkar is a Classical
vocalist with an exceptional young talent inherited from the Gwalior_Kirana
Gharana. Her clear, beautiful voice and intelligent artistry bring colorful
interpretations with a wide range. Her
keen sense in grasping musical nuances was experienced in her family with rich
musical heritage. Since her early childhood, Kasturi had enriched guidance from
her mother Smt. Suvarna Datar, an All India Radio vocalist of Gwalior Gharana.
Kasturi is a disciple of Pt. Vinayak Torvi,
the great maestro of Gwalior_Kirana Gharana from Bangalore. She is rigorously
perusing the Gharana Gayaki from her guruji who has nurtured India's rich
heritage of Hindustani Classical Music. During her chase for acquiring the best
of Gharana Gayaki, Kasturi got an opportunity to learn the intricacy of Gwalior
Gharana from late ‘Pt. Balasaheb Poonchwale’ a Doyen of Gwalior Gharana.
Kasturi
has been performing at various forums across India. Her endeavor at harmonious
rhythm, diction, and emotions has made her to earn undoubted appreciation in
the Divine realm of Indian classical music.
