   Biography
SUBHO CHAKRABORTY, a dedicated sitar atrist in the field of HINDUSTHANI CLASSICAL MUSIC,was born in into a family enriched with versatile musical background. INITIALLY HE STARTED learning SITAR under the carefui guidence of SRI PRAFULLA KUMER PARBAT...who is a disciple of a number of maestroes .He continued his talim under the sagacious supervision of eminent sitar artist and prodigy of MAIHAR SENIYA GHARANA, SRI DEBIPROSAD CHATTERJEE. After that he has also receiving guidencs from another SITAR maestro of this GHARANA, SRI PARTHA CHATTERJEE. Subho has also adopted the vocal style in his music from his mother SMT. ANJU CHAKRABORTY. He has won the FIRST PRIZE IN THE COMPETITION [SENIOR GROUP] BY Dover DOVER LANE MUSIC CONFERENCE in 1989 and ALSO received SUROMANI award from SUR-SINGER-SAMSAD, MUMBAI. Subho has also renderd many impressive performences before distinguished audiences in the different parts of INDIA and earned for himself a lot of appreciations from the musicians and music lovers as well.Apart from this he has proved himself to be noteworthy as a performer in commercial music production He has worked under many reputed MUSIC DIRECTORS...such as TAPAN SINHA, SANDEEP ROY,V.BALSARA he has also participated in INDO-JAPNEES MEET in SWAHHUMI,KOLKATA He is a artist of A.I.R & T.V,KOLKATA
