Mukul Kulkarni
   Biography
Disciple of Pandit Arun Kashalkar and Pandit Sharad Sathe, Mukul Kulkarni is a Hindustani classical vocalist of the Gwalior-Agra gharana. He is an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio.

Mukul started learning Hindustani classical vocal at the age of 10. His initial training started under the guidance of Shri N.G. Paramane. He then picked up nuances of music under the guidance of Mrs. Sukhada Kane, Kolhapur while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in engineering.

After his graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Pandit Vikas Kashalkar of Gwalior gharana took Mukul under his tutelage. Under his guidance, Mukul completed his Master’s degree in Music from the University of Pune, being awarded a Gold Medal for achieving the highest ranking.

Presently, Mukul is receiving taleem under the watchful eyes of Pandit Arun Kashalkar of Gwalior-Agra gharana.

Mukul has also received rigorous taleem from Pandit Sharad Sathe on traditional compositions of 'Gwalior Gharana'. From this taleem, Mukul has gained a large repertoire of traditional old khayals of the Gwalior gharana, tapkhayal and tappa.

Mukul has travelled extensively in India and abroad for his vocal performances; he has performed in major cities such as Ahemdabad, Benaras, Bokaro, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jhansi, Kochi, Kota, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Panji and Pune. Mukul has received a wide acclaim from his tours to the UK since 2013.

Mukul was awarded an 'A' grade for (Khayal-vocal) by All India Radio in 2013.

For the past few years, Mukul has been imparting Hindustani classical vocal lessons to University students in Pune and a few serious students of music online. He has been providing guidance for vocal training for SAAZ Music, an organisation dedicated to Indian classical music in the UK since 2013.
