His invention ‘Sameer Flute’ has made it possible to adopt the pure dhrupad style for the first time ever on the flute.

He plays the flute, and do solo performances with the flute. He also compose music, by collaborating with a number of local and

international artists.

He had been providing guidance and training at various universities and colleges within India. He also teaches a number of international students.

Indian Classical Music

Inventions (Research Work)

1) SAMEER FLUTE

He has invented and patented the Sameer Flute, a complete musical instrument. It is a result of 2 years

of rigorous experimentation and research under the guidance of musicians and scientists. The Sameer

Flute, a symbiosis between science and art, allows a musician to play various nuances (micro notes)

which are specially required for the Dhrupad genre. Hitherto, playing these nuances on a flute was an

unattainable challenge.

The Normal flute is based upon ‘Closed Tube Principle’ while the Sameer flute uses the principle of

‘Helmholtz Resonance’. To achieve this feat, a hollow chamber (pumpkin) is attached just below the

blowing hole. This chamber acts as a Helmholtz resonator and produces a deep, ethereal sound qual-

ity. It also enhances the sound within the range of 40-80 dB whereas; normal flute produces sound in

the range of 30-40 dB.

The Sameer Flute has been accepted in the Limca Book of Records.

2) SMALLEST BAMBOO FLUTE

He built the ‘Pavan Venu’, a flute that is just 3.5 inches long. The Limca Book of Records has

accepted the Pavan Venu as the smallest flute ever. It enables the playing of the highest octaves, first

time ever in any acoustic instrument.
