Creatively inclined towards dancing since the tender age of 10, Karan has made this art form his passion and seeks happiness in making his pupils happy and seeing them smile.
A true Piscean, they say often is more creatively inclined than others and Karan is no different! Karan’s curiosity about the world of dance led him to join a small dance academy in Bhopal where the first foundation of his dance career was laid. When pupils are busy applying to colleges, Karan, simultaneously with his studies, opened his own dance workshop named ‘Akarshan’ in Bhopal. A multitasker, Karan went on to learn folk dancing and Kathak while continuing studies and conducting workshops from Late Shri. Sarju Mohan Maharaja and Ms Anjali Baijal. Under their guidance, Karan completed Senior Diploma in Kathak from Allahabad Prayag Sangeet Samiti. Karan knows and understand 18 folk dances of India from namely Garba, Dandiya, Bhangra, Gidda, Tera Taali, Bhavai and so forth.
During his graduation days, the multifaceted Karan worked briefly for 2 years as a radio jockey with Superhits 93.5 Red FM in Bhopal. He soon moved to Mumbai which he fondly calls the maximum city, to turn his passion into a profession.
In Mumbai, he continued his formal education by pursuing a diploma in mass communication from Xavier Institute of Communications – St. Xavier College Mumbai. His work in Mumbai began as a correspondent with a Hindi news channel. After spending short time as a correspondent, he moved on to the other side – Public Relation and Media Consulting and have been associated with leading PR firms like Genesis – Burson-Marsteller, Edelman – India, Devries Global -Weber Shandwick, Adfactors PR namely. As, his PR profession he has contributed in a noteworthy and credible way to consumer giants like Tata’s, P&G, Viacom 18, HUL etc. While pursuing his professional career as a PR consultant, he concurrently contributed to the world of performing arts and choreography in various ways.
Eager to do more in the city of opportunities, Karan expanded his dance horizon and got further certified as a Zumba Instructor, Pound Knockout Instructor and Yoga Instructor (The Yoga Institute Santacruz). He further continued his Kathak training under the guidance of noted kathak guru – Dr Smt. Manjiri Deo.
After carefully studying the various forms of dance and other dance certifications, Karan devised three dance brands – Happiness Dance Fit, Folk Innovation ™ and Shaadi Swagger.
