Moninder Agrohiya, Born in a family of Music and Art lovers, manifested his strong affinity towards Music at early age of Eleven. Originality, Versatility and Soulful combo in the voice with adaptability to different languages like Hindi, Punjabi, Rajasthani, English being his biggest Asset. He was initially inspired by the Classic Bollywood Singers Md. Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi(Known for Hindustani Classical).
Moninder is founder and lead vocalist of the Band "Bandeya", which is famous for their Sufi Rock, Classical, Retros and Bollywood performances. He has also sung for other bands as lead vocalist before forming Bandeya.
Moninder A. had privilege to learn Vocals from Internationally Acclaimed Legendary Shehnai Maestro Pt. Daya Shankar and their Sons Shri Sanjeev & Ashwani Shankar(Known for brother duo performances) and Anand Shankar(A renowned Tabla Player) of Banaras Gharana who are disciples of Legendary Sitar Maestro Bharat Ratna Late Pt. Ravi Shankar.
Moninder Started learning Vocal Music in his Hometown Bhiwani(Haryana) from well known Music Composer and Singer of Haryana Shri Sachien Arora. After his formal training in his hometown. He joined Sangeet Kala Kendra(Sirsa, Haryana) and learnt Hindustani Classical Music under the Maestro Shri Ram Bakshi of Gwalior Gharana. Presently, he has been consolidating his knowledge under the able guidance of renowned Bollywood Playback Singer Tochi Raina, who has given his voice for many melodious and powerful songs like Kabira, Saibo, Gal mithi mithi bol, Iktara and many more.
After completing his diploma in Harmonium, Moninder is now Pursuing his degree in Hindustani Classical Vocal. He is also an Engineer(B.Tech) in Computer Science from Birla T.I.T&S and has an experience of more than 4 years in Digital Marketing.
Moninder has had the privilege to tour different parts of India with Shri Sanjeev and Ashwani Shankar for SPIC MACAY Concerts (An NGO, working for the Promotion of Hindustani Classical Music).
He has participated and won many state level and National Level prizes like in Sangam Kala Group, College Fests, Open Competitions . Sangam Kala Group has given many versalite singers to the bollywood industry like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anand Raj Anand and many more. He was also selected in top 100 singers in Indian Idol 5 and appreciated by the Judges. He also has the talent of acting which has been shown on many stages.
