Biography

Dr. Girish Oak is a popular and versatile actor par excellence. He is known for his roles in Corporate, Heroine, Saatchya Aat Gharat and Shivrayachi Soon Tararani.

His fans also know him for his serial Julun Yeti Reshimgaathi. His work in Marathi play U Turn has been largely applauded by the audience.

Career

Experimental Theatre:

From 1977 to 1983 actively participated in an experimental theatre at Nagpur. He also participated in the state play vompetitions & inter collegiate drama competitions.

Beginning of the professional theatre in 1984. Since then, he has contributed successively & creatively to the professional theatre till today by performing in 45 plays.

Presently, Dr Girish Oak is staging a show titled Chivitrangan- Ek Abhinav Shabdabhinay based on his own articles in Chatura- Loksatta.

His one act plays like Paris sparsha, Disha, Jo je Vanchil, Pen Friend, Deadly in love have been published by Paresh Prakashan, Pune

• Dr Girish Oak has also penned down the visualizations in Chatura- a magazine of Loksatta under a title Chivitra for almost 2 & half years. Shree Vidya prakashan Pune published the book of those articles with a title Chivitra on 1st january 2005.

Not just an actor but Dr Girish Oak is a poet too. Composed some poems & presented them through different shows.
