Biography

Dr. Avijit Ghosh a young, talented and versatile musician of Senia Maihar Gharana. His gurus are Late Ustad Dhyanesh Khan, Ustad Aashish Khan and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumder. He is done M. A. in Music from Rabindra Bharati University (University Gold Medalist) & Received Ph. D. Degree (Instrumental Music) from Rabindra Bharati University in 2007.

Awards & Achievements of Dr. Avijit Ghosh

•First in All India Radio Music Competition in Instrumental Music in 1996.

•Recipient of President's Gold Medal, B-High Grade Artist of AIR & T.V.

•Collaborated with Real Life Documentary (Greece) on a film on "Healing Aspect of Indian Music".

•Judged event "Star Plus presents Amul Star Voice of India - Chhotae Ustad".

•Recipient of "Jadubhatta Puraskar" given by SLCA.

•Received "The Best Citizens of India Award 2010" from International Publishing House, New Delhi.

•Received "Ranodhar Roy Smriti Sanman 2010" from Saptak, Vishwa Bharati, Santiniketan.

•Received "Outstanding Young Achievers Award" in the field of Music on July, 2010 from Rotary Club East, Kolkata Dist. 3291.

•Received Sangeet Kala Ratna Award From Matri Udbodhan Ashram Yarpur, Patna, Bihar on 15th July 2011.
