Abhijit is one of the rising stars of Hindustani classical vocal
music. Born in a family of musicians,
Abhijit was initiated into music at a very young age by his father Shri.
Ratnakar Apastambh, a renowned vocalist of his generation. He is an ex-scholar of ITC-Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. A dedicated and sincere learner and a talented vocalist, Abhijit is currently under the tutelage of Padmashree Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty.
Although Abhijit
originally belongs to Patiyala Gharana, his gayaki has no bounds of
traditional gharana style and has established beautiful and attractive style of
his own. Abhijit’s devotion to his Guru, coupled with his own creativity has
well been reflected in his gayaki. Apart from classical music, Abhijit has also
created his identity in the field of light classical music, Marathi
natyasangeet and bhajan.
Abhijit Apastambha is now Director of Swar Sadhana Sangeet academy, Nanded.
Currently working as an Assistant Professor, Hindustani Classical Vocal, Department of Visual & Performing Arts, Sri Sri University, Cuttack (Orissa).
Abhijit is 'A' grade Artist of All India Radio in Hindustani Classical Vocal (Khayal)
'B' grade of All India Radio in Marathi Natyasangeet
